The Spaniard moved ahead of Iga Swiatek and Jannik Sinner with his two big trophies at the French Open and Wimbledon while Novak Djokovic is now in the top 10.
Twenty-two players have already earned more than $2m this year as Stefanos Tsitsipas ($2,940,443), Alex de Minaur ($2,890,709), Taylor Fritz ($2,489,240), Andrey Rublev ($2,409,945), Tommy Paul ($2,250,717), Hubert Hurkacz ($2,195,657), Grigor Dimitrov ($2,138,831) and Lorenzo Musetti ($2,074,012) have passed that mark on the ATP side.
On the WTA side, Elise Mertens ($2,165,195), Danielle Collins ($2,225,473), Coco Gauff ($2,903,054) and Elena Rybakina ($3,031,265) are all above the $2m mark.

10. Barbora Krejcikova – $3,504,115
Barbora Krejcikova was well down this last before Wimbledon, but she collected a $3m cheque for winning the grass-court Grand Slam.
The Czech, who also won the 2021 French Open, also reached the quarter-final of the Australian Open, but has done very little in the singles outside of that.
9. Casper Ruud – $3,306,263
Casper Ruud has won two titles in 2024 as he lifted the Barcelona Open ($524,085) and Geneva Open ($94,510).
But his biggest paydays came from reaching the semi-final of the French Open as he collected $695,243 and finishing runner-up at the Monte Carlo Masters ($540,638).
8. Novak Djokovic – $3,621,915
Novak Djokovic found himself in 15th place after the French Open, but a run to the final at Wimbledon ($1,777,168) helped him to move into the top 10.
He has won only one title this year, gold in the singles at the 2024 Paris Games, but no prize money is awarded at the Olympics. But it is never about prize money as winning gold for Serbia was his top priority.
Last year he earned $15,952,044 and he is unlikely to come close to that but having already amassed $184,265,269 over his career, he won’t care.

7. Aryna Sabalenka – $3,736,491
Aryna Sabalenka successfully defended her Australian Open title at the start of the year and earned $2,130,975 as a result.
The Belarusian also finished runner-up at the Madrid Open ($589,099) and the Italian Open ($419,767) while she lost in the quarter-final of the French Open.
6. Daniil Medvedev – $3,802,848
Former world No 1 Daniil Medvedev hasn’t won a title in 2024, but he finished runner-up at the Australian Open ($1,166,963) and runner-up at Indian Wells ($585,000). He also earned $907,625 for reaching the semi-final at Wimbledon.
He will need to win a couple of titles during the latter half of the season if he is to come close to his record earnings of $11,548,023 in 2023.
5. Jasmine Paolini – $4,274,510
What a season Jasmine Paolini is enjoying as she finished runner-up at back-to-back Grand Slams and also won gold in the women’s doubles at the Paris Olympics.
The Italian earned $1,283,525 for her run at Roland Garros, $1,777,168 for finishing runner-up at Wimbledon and $454,500 for winning the title in Dubai.
4. Alexander Zverev – $5,259,164
Alexander Zverev is enjoying a brilliant comeback season following his injury woes the past two years.
He finished runner-up to Alcaraz at the French Open ($1,283,525), won the Italian Open ($1,033,165) and reached the semi-final of the Australian Open ($669,735)
3. Jannik Sinner – $6,097,789
Jannik Sinner added $2,130,975 to his bank account when he won his maiden Grand Slam, the 2024 Australian Open.
The Italian also won the Miami Open ($1,100,000), reached the semi-final at Roland Garros ($695,243) and won the Rotterdam Open ($430,260) and Halle Open ($461,689).
Sinner is on course to beat his tally of $10,456,264 from 2023.
2. Iga Swiatek – $6,683,749
Iga Swiatek earned $9,875,525 in 2022 and $9,857,686 in 2023 and she is on course to smash those totals as she has already earned more than 50% of those totals and we still have several big events to come
The five-time Grand Slam winner collected $2,567,051 at the French Open, $1,100,000 at the Indian Wells Open, $1,025,144 at the Madrid Open, $804,644 at the Italian Open and $523,485 at the Qatar Open.
Swiatek sits ninth on the all-time list for career earnings on the WTA Tour with $31,419,512.
1. Carlos Alcaraz – $7,966,627
Carlos Alcaraz found himself well down the last at the start of June, but he won the French Open ($2,567,051) and Wimbledon ($3,427,396) rocketed to No 1.
He also won the Indian Wells Open ($1,100,000) and reached the quarter-final of the Australian Open ($405,900).
The four-time Grand Slam winner earned $15,196,504 in prize money in 2023 while he is already up to ninth in the overall list for career prize money with $34,992,775.
