Paige Spiranac called out the ‘hypocrisy’ of online comments after a viral video of two shirtless baseball players dancing on the mound was only met with positivity.
“Interesting how different the reaction is online when men choose to show off their bodies,” Spiranac said in a Tweet.
“Not one comment on this video calling them attention whores or sluts. Just a ton of women saying baseball is now their favorite sport but those same women harshly judge me. The hypocrisy lol.”
Spiranac, a golf influencer with millions of followers across her social media platforms, has faced criticism over the way she presents herself online and the outfits she wears.
In April, Spiranac snapped back at a commenter who left a hateful remark on one of her TikTok videos where she taught her audience how to hit a draw shot.
“This is so insulting to men,” the comment said. “Don’t toy with our love of golf. You’re beautiful, yes. But you don’t need to be overt. Dress proper and u’d still be hot.”
Spiranac made a separate response video to the troll.
“So, what I’m gathering is that you hate boobs,” she said. “But everyone loves boobs. Boobs are great!”
The two shirtless baseball players in the video Spiranac referred to in her tweet are members of the Savannah Party Animals –– formerly known as the Savannah Bananas of the collegiate Coastal Plains League.
In 2022, the Bananas left the Coastal Plains League to do what they call “Banana Ball games” year-round –– a special baseball performance with an alternate set of rules, and lots of dancing.
“From the beginning, it was simple: We exist to make baseball fun,” owner Jesse Cole said, according to MLB. “The name of our company is Fans First Entertainment.”
While people seem to love the Party Animals’ games, Spiranac just wants it to be called both ways.
