Paige Spiranac has joined a wide variety of influencers calling out the father of ‘Baby Gronk’.
Over the last few weeks, 10-year-old American football prodigy Madden San Miguel, who is more commonly known as ‘Baby Gronk’, has become a social media sensation. Videos of the youngster ploughing his way through other players on the way to a touchdown have been circulating online.
However, his fame reached a completely different level when he appeared in a now viral video with millionaire gymnast Olivia Dunne. Since then, his father Jake San Miguel, has been trying to expand his social media reach, which currently sits at 322,000 followers on Instagram.
However, in his attempt to network with other huge influencers, he found himself on the wrong side of the golf influencer queen.
Spiranac uploaded a screenshot of two messages he sent to Spiranac. He began his pitch all the way back in November when he asked Spiranac “are you ever in Dallas Tx [Texas]?”
After being ignored by the former professional golfer, he slid back into her DMs in March telling her “we gotta [sic] collab]. Three months after he unwisely tried to convince her, Spiranac has uploaded the message as part of an ever-growing chain of influencers, unhappy with being approached by him.
NFL offensive tackle Taylor Lewan began the chain by uploading his own screenshot asking him to “collab” with the youngster. ESPN reporter Ashley Brewer then joined in with one of her own, this time it was Brewer asking “could we get a story on Baby Gronk with u [sic].”
While his desire to grow Baby Gronk’s brand has been greeted with scepticism by many, he believes he is doing the right thing for his young son.
“The internet shows one thing, but he is the kid you want at your house,” Jake said to The Athletic. “He’s that kid. Everything we’re doing, it looks like a show. It’s not reality. I know how to balance the internet and real life. I don’t think my son is a God or better than all these other kids out there.
“His goal is to go to the NFL. But the NFL is rare. It’s hard to make. So my goal is to build him a platform and a following where he is making money now and it’s going into a savings account.”
