Paige Spiranac, 27, was a professional golfer.
She played college golf at the University of Arizona and San Diego State University and won All-Mountain West Conference honors during the 2012–13 and 2013–14 seasons.
She also led the Aztecs to their first Mountain West Conference Championship in 2015.
In September 2016, Spiranac finished in a three-way second-place tie at Legacy in Phoenix, Arizona.
The ex-pro golfer had another top-five finish at another event the following month.
Spiranac ended the season with approximately $8,000 in winnings, according to SportsSkeeda.
She was also invited to participate in the Dubai’s Ladies European Tour events in 2015 and 2016, but her inclusion on the tour sparked controversy – and she failed both times to make the cut.

Spiranac has played on the Ladies European Tour (LET), but unfortunately never made it onto the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) circuit.
She competed in a couple of LET events with her first appearance at the Omega Dubai Ladies Classic in 2015.
She competed in the Cactus Tour and won her first event in June 2016, beating the then-amateur World No1 Hannah O’Sullivan in a playoff.
In July 2016, Spiranac played in her second European Tour Event where she finished 58th.
She then returned to the US to take part in the qualifying event for the LPGA, but did not make the cut.

Spiranac retired from professional golf in 2016 aged 29.
The social media influencer claimed she felt “burnt out” after dedicating her life to the sport but not seeing the results.
Both of Spiranac’s parents are athletes, who tried to push her to become more successful at golf.
However, the ex-pro golfer felt like she was driving herself “crazy” as she felt she should’ve been performing at a “much higher level”.
Instead, she wanted to have more of a social life and decided to focus on building up a following online.
She’s now a social media pro and draws hundreds of thousands of likes for many of her posts.
The golfer gained notoriety on Instagram after posting trick-shot videos with golfing equipment and now has over two million followers (as of March 2024).

She has also defended her right to dress as she wants after trolls slammed her golfing outfits.
The golfer has even been confronted on the golf course over her daring links outfits.
Spiranac revealed a “traumatizing experience” when one lady challenged her saying, “you look cute but that is highly inappropriate, we have rules here and you cannot wear that outfit”.
