“Well I Won’t Argue About it’: Controversial Paris Olympic Exchange between Iga Swaitek and Danielle Collins

Swiatek was unsurprisingly questioned about the reason behind Collins calling out. The five-time Major winner though, couldn’t offer up a proper explanation. According to her, she didn’t do much wrong to have been subject to the American’s criticism.

Instead, she stated that she simply wanted to “congratulate Collins on her successful career”. Collins had announced earlier this year that the ongoing season would be her last as a professional tennis player due to her desire to have children and focus more on nurturing a family.

“Well, I won’t argue about it, because I’ve never done anything nasty to her. I rather wanted to congratulate her on her successful career, because we all know that this is her last year on tour, Honestly, I don’t know what she meant, because we didn’t even have any interactions that could have caused her to say that to me,” Swiatek said.

Swiatek’s next outing is set to be at the US Open, where she will be the top seed in the women’s singles main draw. Collins, meanwhile, is set to feature at the Monterrey Open in the buildup to the year’s last Grand Slam. The American is slated to square off against Russian Erika Andreeva.
